Are you working on improving your mobility and flexibility? Do you find that you sometimes hit a ‘plateau’ in your training? As you get stronger, are you worried about becoming less agile? Yoga is a great complement to your crossfit training! In yoga, we focus on aligning the joints and muscles of the body in very specific ways that are designed to both stabilize the joints and increase muscle flexibility without sacrificing strength. We practice moving the body in ways that increase our overall body awareness, and can aid in our ability to really use our existing strength to its full potential!
On Saturday, September 6th, join us for a workshop on how yoga can complement your crossfit training. In this workshop, we’ll learn some basics for alignment in the major joints of the body, focusing on increasing range of motion in the shoulders and hips. In addition, we’ll practice some stretches you can use on your own in order to keep your body open and to help you recover more quickly from workouts. And, we’ll practice some more advanced poses in order to learn how to use our existing strength (especially in the core and through the trunk of the body) to create greater balance - you might even stand on your head!
