Announcement:

The 2016 Forest Games Start Thursday April 28th. We are repeating the same events from last year's season 1. For the new folks, the Forest Games is a way for you to benchmark your progress year over year. We will be doing these workouts during our regular classes. Think of this as another training day, classes will run like they normally do with these workouts as the workout of the day.

There is only one leaderboard. Similar to the way CrossFit run's the Open, there will be scaled versions of the workouts. Sometimes you may end up going Rx'd, sometimes you may go scaled. Someone who does a workout RX will have a higher ranking than someone who does it scaled. But be careful; there are time caps. If you go Rx and go over the time cap you risk having a lower score than someone who goes scaled. We are using a scoring system similar to the way decathlons are scored. A detailed explanation of the scoring system is below. It's confusing. We know. But trust us, it's a good, fair system.

Cost: Free

Prize: Top 3 men and women will get the reserved parking spots for 1 month. (Women will get them for the first month, and men the month after). We will also be giving shirts for the top 3 men and women from each division. The divisions are based on time you have been

Rx-2 can scale Events 13 and 14.

Scoring for Finale: Each 3 rounder will be a separate score where the fastest time will rank higher. By default, Rx will rank higher than Rx-1 and so on. And extra score will be total reps for the AMRAP. For this purpose scaled reps will count as half so for example one full round for Rx-2 will consist of 180 reps that will rank higher than 179 RX and lower than 181 regardless of the level.

Overall Scoring System:
The Formula, see whiteboard in the gym.
We have Performance Points Brackets. If there is no scaling, points bracket go from 0-1000. If there are 2 scaling options there's a point bracket from 0-500 for Rx-1 and one from 501-1000 for Rx within the time cap. If there are 3 scaling options there's a point bracket from 0-250 for Rx-2, one from 251-500 for Rx-1 within the time cap and one from 501-1000 for Rx within the time cap.

So let's take Fran for example: we have the following times:
7 Rx with the following times: 2:59 (also the fastest) , 3:01, 3:01, 3:02, 10:00, 10:01 and 20:00
3 athletes at Rx-1: 2:30 (Fastest), 3:00 and 11:00
2 athletes Rx-1: 4:15 (Fastest), 12:00
That will give us the following Ranking
Rx 2:59 - 1000 points
Rx 3:01 - 994 points
Rx 3:01 - 994 points
Rx 3:02 - 992 points
Rx 10:00 - 649 points
Rx-1 2:30 - 500 points
Rx-1 3:00 - 458 points
Rx 10:01 271 points
Rx-2 4:15- 250 points
Rx 20:00 - 149 points
Rx-1 11:00 - 113 points
Rx-2 12:00 - 89 points
If your brain is broken by our point system, just make sure to record your times, scaling (if applicable), and division. We'll do the math for you.
Let the Games Begin!
