I have always been a very active person and someone that people considered to be in “good shape” but I wasn’t aware of the type of health my lifestyle was really leading to. I went four years without stepping foot into a workout facility, focusing on my strength, or looking at my nutrition. When I married my husband, I made a promise that I didn’t have to “workout” until I felt “out of shape,” whatever that meant. One day I woke up feeling like I was missing something in my lifestyle, I didn’t look or feel the way I wanted to when it came to my health. I decided to try out CrossFit, I had heard many people say it was tough but so rewarding and I was up for the challenge. I had no idea the community of people and coaches that I was stepping into. Not only had I found something that was challenging but I had a new group of friends ready to hold me accountable and pick me up when I struggle.
After about a year and a half of working out and feeling great I was challenged with changing my nutrition. It was a 40 day program of eating clean and changing habits I never thought I could break, even for one day. If you know me, you know I love food, and I love all the food that would be considered bad for you. Again, ready for a new challenge in life I went the 40 days without cheating and sticking strictly to this nutrition challenge. I can honestly say I have never felt or looked better in my life (even when I was a cheerleader in college working out every day).
I am almost thirty and I am so proud of the lifestyle that I have adopted and I am so thankful for the coaches and my CrossFit family that never lets me down and continues to push me to my limits.
